MO HealthNet and CMS Make Important Announcements
March 1, 2012 - MO HealthNet recently announced that Missouri providers now have until March 30, 2012, to submit to the State Level Registry (SLR) system an attestation for a 2011 adoption, implementation, or update (AIU) of a certified EHR. The original date for a 2011 attestation to AIU of an EHR was February 29, 2012. There will be no future extensions for 2011 AIU attestations.
MO HealthNet is also upgrading the State Level Registry (SLR) system in preparation for Missouri provider submissions for 2012 attestations for meaningful use. During this upgrade of the system, March 1- March 4, providers will unable to access the system for updates or submissions. The SLR system is expected to be operational and open for submissions and updates on Monday, March 5th.
Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released the proposed rule for Meaningful Use Stage 2. The 455-page document can be downloaded and viewed by following this link http://www.ofr.gov/OFRUpload/OFRData/2012-04443_PI.pdf. The Missouri Health Information Technology (MO HIT) Assistance Center plans to review the highlights of the proposed rule in an upcoming advanced Webinar session.
